    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team and contribute to our mission in the public health sector. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, preparing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our organization's initiatives. The Grant Writer will work closely with the management team, conducting research, developing proposals, and ensuring compliance with grantor requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    Research and Identification: 

    • Conduct thorough research to identify suitable grant opportunities in the public health sector.
    • Stay informed about potential funding sources and opportunities outside the public health spectrum that may benefit the community.

    Proposal Development:

    • Develop clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Ensure that proposals effectively communicate the impact and significance of our initiatives.

    Budgeting:

    • Create detailed budgets for each grant proposal based on feedback from the management team.
    • Explain and justify budgetary components in proposals with a high level of detail and accuracy.

    Submission Process:

    • Assist with the preparation of all required documentation for the grant submission process.
    • Ensure timely submission of grant proposals and compliance with grantor guidelines.

    Follow-up:

    • Manage post-submission follow-up activities, if necessary, to address inquiries and provide additional information to grantors.

    Writing Skills:

    • Demonstrate strong, clear, and concise writing skills to effectively convey complex ideas in grant proposals.

    Research Skills:

    • Proficiently conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities and gather relevant data and statistics to support grant proposals.

    Grant Fundamentals:

    • Possess knowledge and understanding of the basics of grants, including types of grants, the application process, and specific requirements of various grantors.

    Public Health:

    • Have knowledge or experience in the public health field, understanding current issues, and initiatives in public health.

    Grant Proposal Experience:

    • Prior experience in grant writing is highly beneficial, with familiarity in specific formatting and language commonly used in successful proposals.

    Communication:

    • Effectively communicate with Health Department personnel and grantors, conveying complex information clearly.

    Budgeting Expertise:

    • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge in detailed budgeting, both in creation and explanation aspects of proposals.

    Project Management:

    • Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met, and progress is tracked efficiently.

    Ethical Conduct:

    • Adhere to high ethical standards, including honesty, transparency, and avoiding conflicts of interest.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
    • Proven experience in grant writing and proposal development.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of public health issues and initiatives.
