    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The position will have active oversite across the organization as well as play an instrumental role in organizing and planning for all aspects of Consumer Lending, Collections and Operations Department. As part of overseeing the operations of the organization, the holder of this position will assist the COO and CEO with streamlining and managing operations and lending. The position will also be a member of senior management, serving as a strategic leader overseeing consumer lending, indirect lending, automated lending system, mortgage and home equity lending. Responsible for developing the strategic plan, executing long term business strategy, and lending policies and ongoing improvement of lending functions to support Credit Union strategic priorities.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

    • Overseeing the organizing, planning and coordinating of day-to-day operations for the organization and playing a crucial role in all aspects of the lending operations.
    • Responsible for the supervising of the support staff for all relevant lending operations.
    • Responsible for developing and executing long term lending business strategy, policy and procedures, and ongoing improvement of lending and collection functions.
    • Developing, implementing, communicating and monitoring departmental goals, objectives and strategies to staff.    
    • Develop and implement an annual departmental budget by assuring that the budget meets goals, identifying and recommending capital expenditures, maintaining budget constraints, and identifying and recommending staffing expenditures.
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining a positive culture in the Operations, Collections, and Lending Departments.
    • Develop, with assistance from CU trainer, a departmental training program that supports the delivery of quality products and services. This includes determining the training needs of the department, researching and using available training resources, providing staff training, and measuring training results. Measure performance to objectives and provide feedback.
    • Responsible for timely evaluations of staff by conducting evaluations, revision job descriptions as necessary, establishing and clearly communicating performance standards and goals, evaluating performance and taking disciplinary action when appropriate with approval of HR and COO.
    • Responsible for administration and compliance of policies and procedures
    • Update forms to assure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
    • Responsible for upholding member service delivery as the highest priority.
    • Performs other duties and functions when requested by the COO.

    MINIMUM ABILITY, SKILLL, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration or Management, Accounting, Finance or related field.
    • A minimum of five to ten (5-10) years experience as senior lending officer and manager of lending functions in the financial industry.
    • Previous experience leading, directing, managing and coaching large teams both locally and remotely.
    • Excellent communication skills with effective written, verbal, and listen skills at all levels.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Must be highly motivated, a self-starter with strong sales, communication and leadership skills.
    • Broad knowledge and practical experience with operations management and lending.
    • Understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements and developed methods to quickly implement
    • Must be knowledgeable of real estate, home equity, credit card, leasing and indirect lending products.
    • Maintains thorough and current knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal policies, procedures, products and services
    • Must have knowledge and understanding of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
