Member Service Representative: Plaquemine Branch
POSITION PURPOSE:
Performs a broad variety of member service functions such as opening and closing accounts, troubleshooting and issuing plastic cards, and actively cross selling Credit Union products and services, etc. The MSR is also responsible for loan production. Specifically, the MSR will develop and cross sell loan volume, take applications and disburse approved loans for members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Maintains exceptional level of Member Service.
Attracts new members and manages member and account retention.
Cross sells products to Credit Union members by explaining various services available and assists members in selecting these services.
Performs member services such as ordering checks, processing ACH Forms, processing and selling cashier’s checks. Verifies and processes alterations to existing deposit accounts. May process stop payments and holds. Provide assistance in opening of share certificates and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA’s).
Provide assistance to members in understanding statements, perform interest calculations and resolve statement related issues. Assist members to defuse problem situations in a productive way, along with following-through to ensure the issue has been satisfactorily resolved.
Counsels members on financial matters.
Demonstrates the uses of good marketing techniques for cross selling and is able to train others.
Process loan applications within lending guidelines. Recommends alternatives for members not qualifying for loans.
Provide members with accurate account information in a timely manner.
Ensure all loan and account documents are archived and submitted to >span class="TextRun SCXW86174899 BCX3" lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US" data-contrast="auto"> room timely.
Ensure other member related documents are forwarded to the correct department timely.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Ensures Branch compliance with audit, policy, procedures and loss prevention.
Follows and strictly adheres to the established security procedures.
Resolves complaints and problematic issues properly and timely notifies Management when the problem needs to be escalated.
Positively supports Management and the Board of Directors in all corporate decisions.
Performs other functions and special projects as may be requested from time to time by management.
Assist with Financial seminars within the communities.
Stays abreast of Credit Union policies, procedures and services.
Ensures Regulatory procedures are followed in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.
Knowledge of Reg CC Holds and Bank Secrecy Act.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movement such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together.
Talking: Conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly or quietly.
Hearing: Able to hear average on normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Sitting/Lifting: Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day, must be able to lift up to 15lbs occasionally.
Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus for close computer work.

MINIMUM ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma.
Some college level preferred.
5-10 years of previous lending experience in a financial institution setting.
Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing Credit Union members and projecting a positive image to members.
