JOB PURPOSE
Canoo's Summer Internship Program is designed to provide a robust and meaningful experience that includes high impact, business-relevant, hands-on project with well-defined goals and deliverables. Interns will have access to professional development and mentorship, leadership exposure. Interns will work directly with assigned team throughout the internship.
The Internship Program is a ten to twelve-week program focused on preparing graduate and undergraduate students' for product-facing consultative internships. Paid internship position will start in June through end of August. All Intern applicants must be a registered, full-time student at a college or university.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Canoo is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist the Chassis brakes group. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, this role will contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and integration of various projects related to brake system. Primarily this role will be contributing to the design and integration of brake system for prototype and production vehicles. Depending on previous experience and education discipline, it involves conceptual & detail design, CAD modeling in Catia V6, etc. This role will be working along side various interdisciplinary teams to help integrate the design from overall vehicle perspective.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND GOALS
Create and modify 3D &2D CAD designs for brake systems and its related components
Work with suppliers to ensure design, cost and mass requirement are met
Work with supplier to implement component Design Verification Plan (DVP) to meet build timing
Manage deliverables and suppliers to meet program milestones and prototype builds
Construct Design Verification Plan (DVP) and coordinate execution of verification tests throughout program milestones
Coordinate cross functionally to build and maintain prototype vehicles for Chassis testing
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
Proficient in Catia V6
Basic Knowledge of Braking, Steering, and Suspension components
Previous work on extra-curricular teams such as Mini Baja, Formula SAE etc. is considered a plus
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
