    JOB PURPOSE: 

    Canoo is building an effective ADAS system for its vehicle program. The goal is to provide an elegant solution over a brute force approach. The team is looking to add more skills to the current team with an engineer who is focused on testing the system to provide development and validation data to the program. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains the development vehicles to provide the development platform and data collection
    • Builds new functionality into the development vehicles as required
    • Provides design direction review for production solutions
    • Writes test cases and test plans to support the development and validation
    • Develops technical specifications as well as statement of requirements as required
    • Leads formal design, peer, and quality reviews
    • Leads resolution of technical issues
    • Leads/manages supplier resident engineers
    • Intimate knowledge of hardware and software interfaces
    • Ensure all vehicle program imperatives (cost, timing, investment, and quality) are met
    • Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs
    • Provides technical leadership for advanced technology development

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

    • Experience with automotive electronic modules and sensors

    • Professional experience in automotive test systems and test vehicles

    • Experience in computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning (deep learning), artificial intelligence and image processing

    • Experience with computational platforms for machine vision and sensor fusion

    • Knowledge of automotive software development, and functional safety principles

    • Experience in Design/Development of Safety Critical Systems/Components

    • Experience in automotive network protocols such as CAN and Ethernet

    • DFMEA training

    • Electronic module Validation Experience

    • DFSS Certification

    • Software Controls experience
