    JOB PURPOSE

    The PCB Designer will produce and layout printed circuit board (PCB) artwork from schematics for embedded control systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND GOALS:

    • Produce high-quality PCB artwork from schematics, best practices and other requirements.
    • Create PCB sourcing packages and interface with suppliers for quoting.
    • Create and maintain component libraries and other databases for PCB development.
    • Create and maintain template documents for PCB development.
    • Interface directly with suppliers providing technical support during the quoting and fabrication process.

    QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

    • Technical education in electrical/electronics,
    • Five years of experience developing PCBs for high-quality environments such as automotive, aerospace, defense or high-end computer products.
    • Experience with differential pair routing, high voltage, creepage and clearance standards, IPC workmanship standards and other industry norms and standards.
    • Understanding of modern techniques for fabricating circuit boards and the impact of each technique to the reliability and cost of the finished product.
    • Understanding of key Design for Manufacturing principals for circuit board fabrication and assembly.
