Job Summary
As a Sr. Software Developer, you will provide 2nd level engineering support for Aeronautical Common Service (ACS). ACS is the single trusted access point for Special Activity Airspace, Federal NOTAM System, and airport configuration data Integration and ingestion of eNational Airspace System Resource (eNASR) and Special Use Airspace (SUA) Management System (SAMS) data through eNASR and SAMS SWIM services.
You will work independently with close supervision, providing support in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems. You will work with software programming languages such as Java, XML and SQL. You may work with specialists from other disciplines such as hardware, software, logistic support, and testing to produce fully integrated and responsive components and systems.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage software maintenance transition plan, including defining objectives, identifying needed resources, and developing schedules and cost estimates
Develop software modifications for ACS
Review and comment on system engineering documents, system requirement documents, software testing documents, and training material
Attend system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and other meetings to support the program/team
Coordinate with stakeholders and communicate effectively
Interpret and analyze complex information systems data to develop technical documentation, system diagrams, and presentation materials
On call for site support
Qualifications:
B.S. of Computer Science, Math, or other technical field and 25 years of related experience
Technical Proficiencies:
Understanding of software architecture
Knowledge of database management
Ability to allocate and manage resources
Understand program risk, identify and mitigate risks to the plan
Experience communicating with stakeholders
Desired:
Working knowledge of networking, client server architecture, cloud computing and enterprise system architecture
Knowledge of server operations, data communications and systems analysis and networks
Solid understanding of IP network technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Familiarity with object-oriented programming techniques, client/server development, cross-browser development, and Unix/Linux skills
