    POSITION TITLE: Estimator

    PAY STATUS: Non-exempt

    SUPERVISES: N/A

    PAY RANGE: $55,000- $60,000

    General Responsibility:  

    A well-established commercial flooring contractor is looking to add an Estimator to its team. The Flooring Estimator is responsible for estimating the cost of flooring and other related construction scopes. This includes gathering and analyzing data, developing budgets, and preparing reports. The Estimator must have a strong understanding of construction plans, materials, methods, and labor costs. They must also be able to build relationships with clients, work independently and be part of a strong internal team.

    Significant Duties: 

    Proficient in Measure Square & Job Tracker estimating software.

    Analyze project plans and specs to estimate the cost of flooring and other construction scopes.

    Work to build relationships with contractors, vendors, and coworkers.

    Stay up to date on construction materials, methods, and labor costs

    Must have experience with hard bids and negotiated bids.

    Works independently and as part of a Sales, Estimating and Operations Team.

    Once project is won, must be able to collect, prepare and communicate all relevant project information to the operations team.

    Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

    The estimator will see the project through its entire life stage.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    2-3 years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on estimating.

    Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

    Proven experience as an estimator in the commercial flooring industry or a related field.

    Strong knowledge of commercial flooring materials, installation techniques, and industry trends.

    Proficiency in using estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.

    Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

    Strong communication and negotiation skills.

    Attention to detail and an elevated level of accuracy.

    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

    Understanding of construction codes and regulations.

    Valid driver's license for site visits.

    Physical Requirements: 

    The position of Estimator requires that you be able to lift objects that weigh up to 15 pounds, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and work above head and below waist. Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, climb stairs, and use hands, fingers, wrists, and arms.
