    Job Description

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
    • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
    • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
    • Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security.
    • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
    • Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll.
    • Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations.
    • Responsible for managing assigned payroll.
    • General familiarity with in house payroll.
    • Foundational knowledge in garnishments payroll.
    • Filing, local, state, and federal taxes – Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly.
    • Create internal payroll reports.
    • Assist with phone calls/emails directly with the employees or restaurants regarding payroll questions.
    • Responsible for mailing out payroll checks or payroll documents.
    • Complete year-end reporting.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned by Payroll Manager.

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 2+ years of experience in payroll preferred
    • 2+ years of experience utilizing and supporting payroll systems.
    • Deep expertise in developing reports, analyzing data, and producing actionable insights.
    • Must be comfortable and skilled at working in an interdependent team environment that is dynamic, fast-paced, and deadline-driven.
    • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize and multitask; must be able to complete priorities.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
    • Exceptional verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to research, understand and apply federal, state and local regulations relating to payroll, labor, and employment tax laws and the implications for system configuration and integrations.
    • Ability to adapt to frequent changes with system updates, policies, etc.
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible work hours to ensure payroll deadlines are met.
    • Strong analytical skills and attentiveness to detail.
    • Integrity and trustworthiness specific to confidentiality and privacy of employee information. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all payroll records.
