    Job Description

    AUDIT SUPERVISOR

    E+P is always seeking driven, dedicated, and ambitious individuals to join the audit team. E+P has a diverse client base, which allows its staff members to be exposed to a wide variety of challenges and learning experiences across many industries.

    Summary

    The Audit Supervisor is a seasoned professional with 3 to 5 years of experience. The Audit Supervisor oversees the audit engagement and guides staff in executing and following the audit strategy.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand personal and team roles responsibilities and objectives
    • Practice the E+P audit approach and utilize the available tools
    • Understand clients’ needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values, and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues
    • Serve as main contact person to the client during audit fieldwork and effectively share communication with the engagement team
    • Assist and participate in audit engagement planning, including preparation of risk assessments, audit programs, and other planning documents
    • Understand the importance of project economics, including budget to actual, billing, and analysis
    • Challenge procedures used in past engagements and attempt to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity
    • Supervise staff complete detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances and related disclosures, including more complicated segments of the audit engagement and subsequently review their work
    • Recognize and address potential problem areas or internal control issues and communicate them to the engagement team
    • Prepare financial statements and audit report
    • Prepare other required correspondence
    • Research accounting issues
    • Train and assist new or less experienced audit staff by providing directions and guidance
    • Perform other accounting, auditing, or consulting assignments as needed in engagements and as assigned

    Qualifications & Skills Required

    • Accounting B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent from accredited university
    • CPA license, or actively working to obtain CPA license, required
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement desirable
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills and decision-making skill
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

    Experience, Training, and License

    • 3-5 years of work experience in public accounting or related fields
    • CPA license preferred
    • Government and not-for-profit accounting and auditing experience a plus

    Additional Considerations

    • Travel is a requirement
    • Possession of an appropriate, valid California driver’s license required
