JOB DESCRIPTION: Manual Machinist
Summary/Objective: The Manual Machinist sets up and operates a variety of manual machines to produce quality parts. Reviews samples, drawings or work instructions to machine parts to specification. Loads parts in the machine while applying knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to complete parts efficiently.

Performs all assigned machine shops operations.
A good understanding of GD&T and how it affects the ability to make conforming parts
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Sets up and operates a variety of machines which include VTL’s, Flatbed Lathes, Manual Mills to regularly perform combination of machining operations such as: facing, boring, threading, reaming, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, and sawing to specifications.
Reviews set up and specifications to determine machining sequence, set up operation and dimensions of finished work piece.
Verifies accuracy of machined work pieces against drawings by measuring cuts with inspection tooling and gauges.
Calculates and make adjustments to SFM, RPM, IPR, IPM based on material hardness
Completes and maintains paperwork for parts.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve machining problems.
Runs secondary operations on another machine when time allows.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. The employee just frequent lift and / or move objects up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends if required
Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: None required for this position.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Everify is used by EPC.
