Teachers For Tomorrow (TFT) is hiring multiple Substitute Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Classroom Aides to support licensed childcare centers across the Twin Cities.

Late Fall/Early Winter are high-need months for childcare centers due to holiday breaks, staff vacations, and increased call-outs — making this a great time to start or continue your career in early childhood education.

TFT partners with over 120 licensed childcare centers, providing high-quality substitute and support staff that directors rely on. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, flexible, and excited to help children learn through play.

Position: Early Childhood Substitute Teacher

Part-time or full-time (24+ hours per week) available

Monday–Friday availability between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM

Extra hours often available in Winter Months due to increased staffing needs

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers with daily classroom routines
• Assist with play-based learning activities and age-appropriate curriculum
• Supervise and engage with children ages infant–preschool
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment
• Adapt quickly to different classrooms and early childhood centers
• Communicate professionally with staff, directors, and families

Ideal Candidates

• Experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, daycare, or early education program preferred
• Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field is a plus
• Reliable transportation with willingness to commute up to 25 miles
• Caring, patient, dependable, and comfortable working with young children
• Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude
• Willing to train individuals passionate about starting a career in childcare

Compensation & Benefits

• $17–$21 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
