Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the varied learning styles and abilities of children

Promote curiosity, creativity, independence, and foundational skills through interactive play and activities

    Classroom Management

Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior and peer collaboration

Establish consistent routines for meals, rest, transitions, and group learning

Use positive behavior guidance strategies to foster self-regulation and problem-solving

Be physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50 lbs

    Individualized Support

Observe and assess each child’s development, using insights to guide instruction and interventions

Offer differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of all learners

Communicate regularly and collaboratively with parents and guardians to ensure consistency between home and school

Spiritual Development (applies to non-state-funded classrooms only)

Incorporate Christian values into classroom experiences through songs, storytelling, and daily interactions

Model kindness, empathy, and love while building a classroom culture grounded in faith and community

    Team Collaboration & Growth

Partner with colleagues, administrators, and families to support each child’s success

Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and center-wide initiatives

Maintain professionalism, organization, and attention to detail in all aspects of classroom and center operations

    Other Duties

Fulfill additional responsibilities as needed to support center needs

    Qualifications:

High school diploma or NC Early Childhood Credential (required); CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)

Prior experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting

Strong understanding of child development principles and early education best practices

Familiarity with or willingness to integrate Christian values into teaching

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Must pass all background checks and screenings in accordance with state and church policies
