    Job Summary:

    The Church Childcare Center in Walkertown, NC is thrilled to welcome a Full-Time Early HeadStart Teacher to our team. As an integral part of our center, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their developmental growth and learning.

    Job Type:

    Full-Time

    Monday-Friday | 8am-5pm

    Classroom details:

    Teacher to student ratio of 4:1

    Total of eight 2-year-old students

    Responsibilities:

    1. Curriculum Development:

    Collaborate with the teaching team to design and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support the holistic development of children.

    Develop engaging and interactive lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, group projects, and individual learning opportunities.

    Utilize various teaching methods and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of the children.

    1. Classroom Management:

    Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and respect among children.

    Establish and maintain a structured daily routine, including transitions, circle time, playtime, meals, and rest periods, ensuring a balance between active and quiet activities.

    Promote positive behavior management strategies that encourage self-discipline, cooperation, and conflict resolution.

    Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50 lbs.

    1. Individualized Support:

    Observe and assess the progress, strengths, and areas of improvement of each child to develop personalized learning goals and plans.

    Provide differentiated instruction and support that addresses the unique needs and learning styles of each child.

    Foster open and regular communication with parents and guardians, exchanging information, addressing concerns, and maintaining consistency between home and school environments.

    1. Collaboration and Professional Growth:

    Engage in effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, parents, and center administration, providing updates on children's progress, achievements, and areas of concern.

    Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.

    Contribute to center-wide initiatives, policies, and events, fostering a cohesive and supportive team environment.

    1. Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Possess an Associate of Applied Science Degree or higher [AAS Degree or higher]

    Applicants with knowledge of the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold will be prioritized

    Demonstrate previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting or preschool environment.

    Possess a solid understanding of child development principles, early childhood education theories, and best practices.

    Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

    Showcase strong organizational skills, including the ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans, manage classroom routines, and maintain accurate records.

    Possess or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

    Successfully complete background checks and screenings as required by state regulations and the church's child protection policies.
