As demand for our services continues to grow, we are seeking a qualified Early Intervention Group Developmental Leader to join our team. This role is essential in helping us meet the needs of the children and families we serve, ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential through individualized, evidence-based support.
Qualifications:
Masters in Special Education (Certificate in Students with Disabilities B-2nd)
OR
Certificate or License in ONE of the following professions:
Special Education (Permanent Certification)
Social Work
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Speech & Language Pathology
· Pediatric experience required
· Strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
· Must have strong command of the English language, written and spoken.
· Friendly, caring, outgoing personality
· An understanding of lesson plan development and play-based instruction
· Experience with toddlers (age 18 months and up)
Responsibilities:
Prepare the educational environment with appropriate learning materials
Create a daily routine to provide stability and a variety of learning opportunities for children
Create visual supports to help support children’s participation in daily routines
Individualize daily learning activities to the level and specific needs appropriate for each child
Provide behavior support to children exhibiting maladaptive behaviors
Model appropriate social skills to support and foster peer interactions
Incorporate daily living skills as part of the classroom learning with routines associated with mealtime, toileting, etc.
Present daily individualized lessons and learning activities that present children with engaging ways of learning
Expose children to a multitude of learning mediums including, but not limited to: manipulatives, paper, books, etc., to help support learning.
Develop daily lessons to meet cognitive levels of the children in the classrooms
Develop and implement daily lessons that incorporate communication, fine motor, sensory integration, gross motor, and social development.
Follow children’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and the goals within each child’s plan
Perform routine documentation of performance, adjust goals and treatment as necessary.
Communicate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, program director, ongoing service coordinators, teachers, behavioral therapists, etc., as necessary.
Participate in in-services and/or training programs, as appropriate.
Consults with the director and other therapists regarding the arrangement of appropriate schedules for children’s therapies.
Implements therapy as directed for children with delays in fine motor skills, sensory processing, speech, physical, etc. and refers children for other services, as appropriate.
Interacts in a professional manner with children and parents. Is available for meetings. Communicates with parents and participates as needed in IFSP development and implementation.
Maintains appropriate records regarding children’s progress in therapies
Maintains and submits reports, records and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
Assumes responsibility for supervising children in their care. Reports potential problems, unusual events, etc. to supervisory staff.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships with others by effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member.
Performs any other job-related duties assigned by the director of program.
Must be able to safely lift and carry children weighing up to 40 pounds.
Must be comfortable performing tasks such as diapering and assisting with toileting and hygiene needs.
Pay: To be determined based on qualifications and experience
Schedule and Work Location:
· Full-Time Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM – 4 PM
· In-person at 5 Triangle Road, Liberty, NY 12754
