We are currently seeking a dynamic candidate to fulfill the medical business office roll of payment poster.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Experience Payment Posting or Billing in a surgical environment a plus!

The Business Office Coordinator/Payment Poster manages all functions related to payment posting and credit balance review. Payment posting duties include the application of daily payments to patients’ debit balance accounts.  Credit balance review duties include reviewing, researching, and analyzing accounts receivable credit balances. Other duties to be assigned as needed.

Candidate must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and handle multiple tasks at one time. Because the Payment Poster often talks with patients and insurance representatives in various capacities, this position requires a candidate who demonstrates a positive and professional demeanor, good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, problem resolution skills, and is professional in approach.

Required Skills

• Understanding of insurance contracts/EOB's.
• Calculate expected reimbursement from the payer.
• Apply Adjustments/corrections to accounts as needed.
• Recognize overpayments from both patient and payer as well as underpayments
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills using proper English grammar.
• Familiar with patient accounting software, especially AdvantX.
• Ability to read and understand insurance explanations of benefits and managed care contracts
• Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
• Good telephone technique.
• Multi-Tasking is a MUST.
• Friendly SMILE and very courteous.
• MUST work well with others.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Required Experience
