We are looking for Junior IT Support Specialist to join our growing team!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide second level support to internal employees, both on-site and remote, with a variety of hardware, software, and other technical issues, via phone, email and in-person. Must be able to independently evaluate and prioritize incidents and diligently deploy or provide solutions.
· Deploy, maintain, administer, monitor, and update workstations, peripherals, software, servers, network equipment, audio/video conference rooms, user accounts, phones, access control, and centralized/enterprise software.
· Keep IT spaces neat and organized, inventory and requisition equipment or consumables.
· Assist infrastructure, network and server teams as needed with deployments, preventative maintenance, or other duties.
· Perform introductory and ongoing training for employees and create associated documentation.
· Set up equipment for meetings, tradeshows, and other special events.
· Supervise contractors, consultants, or managed service providers.
· Perform project-based work as assigned such as new version deployments, research, security improvements.
· Provide innovative solutions to IT environment by staying current with evolving technologies.
SKILLS:
· Expertise with Windows Enterprise, Server, Office, Exchange (all on-premise)
· Expertise with active directory, group policy, logon scripts, wsus or sccm
· Strong understanding of networking, DHCP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, vlans, access lists, managed switching
· Powershell scripting
· Installation and of termination of network cabling or any low-voltage or electrical experience would be a plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Interest in technology as a hobby
· Must be able to troubleshoot problems and determine the root cause
· Relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, CISM, RHCSA
· Ability to follow through with open issues or assignments, and to multitask support responsibilities alongside project-based work
· Willingness to travel to local datacenters, respond to after-hours emergencies, or work after-hours for planned maintenance (all minimal)
· Knowledge of hand tools and how to operate safely within IT spaces
· Physically able to lift 50 lbs
· 2+ years of experience in a related capacity
