  • Responsibilities

    PURPOSE: 

    Help achieve East Central Energy's mission to safely provide reliable service to members by providing continuous, efficient, telephone response and accurate information for maintaining excellent front-line customer relations and quality internal work flows.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

    • Respond to members face to face, billing inquiries by telephone and/or electronic written correspondence including online chat.
    • Process payments and balance daily cash drawer.
    • Analyze system maintenance reports
    • Perform other duties as requested including, but not limited to, attending ongoing training sessions, promoting energy conservation and electrical safety and make outbound calls.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of PUC regulations and laws that relate to data privacy and cold weather disconnects, red flag rules and PCI compliance laws to protect and secure member information
    • Knowledge of Microsoft and other computer-related software and office equipment.
    • Analytical skills to assess energy consumption and meter reading information.
    • Skill in performing complex mathematical computations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and percentages for determining billing accuracy.
    • Skill and ability to effectively communicate with appropriate grammar and vocabulary with members and internal employees. 
    • Ability to maintain composure under the stress of major outages and heightened customer anxiety during problem resolution.
    • Skill and ability to follow all general task guidelines and established procedures to meet deadlines while handling unpredictable daily internal tasks.
    • Ability to ensure accuracy of data entered into billing database.
    • Ability to speak with appropriate voice intonation, clarity, volume and conciseness while speaking with member on the phone and in person.

    NATURE:

    • Regular, full-time, non-exempt, non-supervisory position
    • 8-4:30 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday.  The shift could change in the future, depending on business needs.
    • Position based in Braham (may be called to cover the Finlayson and Milaca front office)
    • Reports to Member Services Supervisor
