  • Responsibilities

    East Central Energy is accepting applications for two full-time summer Temporary Line Technician Interns. You will work with ECE line technician crews to safely construct and maintain electric utility lines. Where will you be located? The choice is yours: Braham, Finlayson, Milaca, Superior, or Wahkon Operation Centers.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from vocational/technical school in power line studies

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • Class A Commercial Driver's License

    • DOT Medical Examiner's Card

    • CPR Certification and knowledge of first aid

    Specialized knowledge

    • Understand construction and maintenance of power lines to properly build and maintain the electrical distribution line.

    • Adhere to Rural Utilities Service, National Electrical Safety Code, and the cooperative's policies, safety rules, and procedures.

    • Understand hot line work.

    Skills/abilities

    • Communicate effectively to conduct business with line crews, other ECE employees, and members.

    • Manage time effectively.

    • Possess a high level of integrity; respect and maintain confidentiality.

    • Organize time efficiently to complete responsibilities.

    • Perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.

    The pay rate for a Temporary Line Technician Intern would be $37.37. This is a non-exempt (hourly), bargaining unit, onsite temporary 1,000-hour position at one of our operations centers.
