As the Music Teacher at EHCS, you will play a vital role in guiding students through their musical journey, instilling a love for music, and building a strong foundation in musical theory, performance, and appreciation. With the school experiencing significant growth, particularly in the Fine Arts program, this position will be instrumental in furthering the department's expansion. The Music Teacher will be responsible for planning and conducting engaging music lessons, organizing performances, and collaborating with fellow educators to seamlessly integrate music into the broader curriculum.

    Job summary

    The Music Teacher at EHCS is expected to communicate effectively using a relational approach. Encourage students to take intellectual risks, express creativity, and demonstrate learning through innovative methods. The music teacher will collaborate closely with the elementary music teacher to ensure a cohesive K-12 music program that aligns with EHCS's educational objectives and work collaboratively with the performing arts teacher as needed, fostering a supportive environment for interdisciplinary projects and performances.

    The Music Teacher will report to the middle/high school principal, providing regular updates on curriculum development, student progress, and departmental needs. He or she will engage in open communication with school administrators, seeking guidance and sharing insights to enhance the overall educational experience. As a member of the faculty, the Music Teacher is expected to contribute actively to chapel services and other spiritual development activities. All faculty members are expected to embrace opportunities to integrate Christian values and principles into music education, fostering a holistic approach to students' growth.

    Required Professional Qualities

    • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in music education or a related content area.
    • Be certified or able to be certified through ACSI

    • Must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships
    • Have experience using classroom technology, electronic resources, programs, and platforms

    • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate music into cross-curricular projects.
    • Support the school's commitment to holistic education through teamwork and shared initiatives.
