As the STEM Teacher and E-Sports Coach at EHCS, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the school's curriculum to incorporate cutting-edge technology in alignment with Christian values. The STEM Teacher and E-Sports Coach will guide students in exploring the realms of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) while also nurturing their skills and passion for e-sports. The STEM Teacher and E-Sports Coach will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological and gaming education at East Hill Christian School. This dual role involves teaching technology courses, fostering innovation, and leading the school's e-sports program. The successful candidate will have a passion for technology, expertise in teaching, and a commitment to integrating Christian values into both the classroom and the gaming arena. The STEM teacher and E-Sports Coach reports to the middle/high school principal.

    Required Professional Qualities

    • A minimum of an earned bachelor degree in education, technology, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in gaming and experience in coaching or participating in e-sports.
    • Be certified or able to be certified through ACSI
    • Exhibit a strong faith and exemplary lifestyle
    • Ability to oversee and manage a growing program
    • Must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships
    • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

    Essential Job Functions

    • Design and implement a dynamic technology curriculum that aligns with academic standards and Christian values.
    • Incorporate innovative teaching methods to encourage students to explore and apply technology in real-world contexts.
    • Deliver engaging technology lessons to students in a manner that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Create a supportive learning environment that fosters creativity and curiosity.
    • Collaborate with other educators to integrate technology across various subjects, fostering cross-disciplinary learning.
    • Establish and lead the school's e-sports program, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
    • Develop strategies for the growth and success of the e-sports teams.
    • Train and coach e-sports team members, providing guidance in gaming techniques, strategy, and teamwork.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that aligns with Christian principles.
    • Coordinate participation in e-sports competitions and leagues, ensuring a positive representation of the school.
    • Manage logistics, schedules, and communication related to e-sports events.
    • Work collaboratively with the secondary principal, other teachers, and staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated educational experience.
    • Provide regular updates to the secondary principal on technology education and e-sports program activities, achievements, and challenges.
    • Contribute to chapel and other spiritual development activities.
    • Engage with parents, fostering open communication regarding students' progress and upcoming events.
    • Actively participate in school-wide events, contributing to the sense of community at EHCS.
