East Lawn Mortuary & Sierra Hills Memorial Park has multiple openings for Part-Time Facility Staff Assistants. This is an excellent position for students, retirees, or those looking to supplement their income.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Answer phones and doors.
• Assist funeral staff on services.
• Assist families for visitations.
• Instruct clergy, casket bearers, and other service participants.
• Keep mortuary and related areas clean and attractive. Includes cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Assist clerical staff when needed (service folder errands, flowers, etc.)
• Gas and clean vehicles.
• Release cremated remains to families using proper procedures.
• Receive and record payments on accounts.
• Operate PA, Video Tribute and music systems; record services.
• Run miscellaneous errands as necessary; i.e., delivering items to family’s home, small item pick-up and delivery.
• Position requires the employee work a minimum of three shifts in a moving quarter (3-months) period, in order to remain employed.
• Perform other duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Personable and courteous
• Excellent phone etiquette
• Neat and clean appearance; subject to East Lawn Dress Code requirements
• Ability to function without direct supervision
• Demonstrated ability to perform duties as position requires
• Ability to answer door, greet customers and assist with services (i.e., distribute folders, seat customers, arrange flowers, etc.)
• Ability to spend up to 50% of time or more in cleaning/janitorial duties.
• Ability to set-up, take-down, load and unload flowers for services; requires lifting approximately 5-20 lbs. each flower arrangement.
