Job Description
East View Companies (East View Information Services, East View Geospatial, and East View Map Link) seeks an IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST 1 to support and troubleshoot first-tier technology issues across multiple business sites located in Hopkins and Plymouth. This is an in-person support role to assist staff with a wide breadth of IT issues, applications, infrastructure processes, peripherals, or systems operations and maintenance. Local travel is required to support multiple company sites. This job requires some physical labor including but not limited to squatting, bending, or lifting hardware/desktop setups and cabling. The IT Support Specialist is a member of the IT team and will take work direction from the Senior Systems Administrator.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical and sys admin support (hardware, software, operator problems, applications, printer, or peripherals) to end users and endpoints
Diagnose and resolve IT incidents and issues for both hardware and software
Track service requests using IT ticket system
Install and configure software solutions in Windows-based applications, desktop, and server operating environments
Administer Active Directory (AD) for user management and group policies
Understand business needs and constraints and suggest solutions based on customer requirements or desired solutions accordingly
Assist Systems Administrator with routine system administration tasks
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in Computer Science; or 1+ years’ MIS support-related equivalent work experience with PCs, networks, and servers in a business or institutional environment
Certifications Preferred in CompTIA A+ Certification and/or Microsoft Certifications
Working knowledge of Windows 10; and Windows 2008/2012/2019 servers; and Microsoft 365 applications.
Working knowledge of SharePoint desired but not required
Experience preferred in acquisitions of technology/ deployment of new services
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with flexibility and prioritization with minimal supervision
Experience preferred in supporting video meeting/collaboration technology
