    Our client company, headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a leading provider of high efficiency solar cells, solar panels, and composite structural products for satellite and aerospace applications. They are the world’s only vertically integrated, end-to-end supplier of satellite solar arrays. Our client’s proven flight heritage, high volume production capability and technology position them to service the world’s most demanding satellite applications. Since 2001, Their solar cells or panels have supplied primary power to over 480 successful space missions.

     

    Our client has an immediate need for a Senior Production Engineer to assist in a full-time permanent ‘career’ position.

     

    DESCRIPTION:

    • Maintain WI’s for critical Processes
    • Translate Design requirements for complex assemblies in to standard work direction for technicians
    • Ability to multitasking and prioritize with minimal direction
    • Execute structured experimentation for process improvement (DOE)
    • Experience training operator level staff to work instructions procedures and being available to answer general design and assembly questions.
    • Interface with design engineering.
    • Create and maintain SPC as well as develop out of control actions plans
    • Investigate and identify root cause for process issues.
    • Implement and verify corrective actions

     

    QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.

    • Understanding of Manufacturing principles.
    • Must have good written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of Solar Cell fundamentals.
    • General knowledge of SPC.
    • Experience with JMP Preferred.
    • Experience with Solid Work Preferred.
    • Familiar with RCCA tools and formal problem solving (FMEA, 8-D problem solving)
    • General understanding of a solar cell fabrication process is a plus

     

     

    MINIMUM EDUCATION:

    • BS in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent Engineering degree.

     

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

    • 5 or more years of experience in semiconductor fabrication, Aerospace manufacturing or other High Tech/High Volume manufacturing industry.
