    ENT TRIAGE NURSE

The ENT Triage Nurse will be responsible for assisting the ENT Triage Department with FMLA paperwork, medication prior authorizations, and managing patient concerns over the phone. In addition there are two other part-time job opportunities within this position that include assisting a physician when the nursing staff is out sick or on vacation and working as a clinical records coordinator gathering imaging studies, labs, consult notes, etc.

The triage position on any given day will always have a “head triage person” in place and sometimes an “ancillary/assistant triage position” as well. The person in the head triage position is ultimately responsible for the triage tasks received during the time frame they are the head triage person. If the head triage position transitions from one person to another in mid-day, a “shift change” will occur and the head triage person will be responsible for verbally passing down outstanding messages and/or job responsibilities to the next head triage person on the schedule. Any concerns from either party should be resolved before the change of shift occurs. The head triage position at the end of each workday is responsible for completing tasks that are required to be done on the same work day (see details below).
