ARE YOU OUR NEXT INVENTORY ACCOUNTING MANAGER?
THE OPPORTUNITY
Oversee operations of the inventory accounting team and providing coaching, leadership to the team to include:
- Perform reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of the general ledger; ensure accurate and timely review of reconciliation variances
- Responsible for inventory accounting control processes pertaining to Cycle Counting, Inventory adjustments, Nonstock inventory and Physical Inventory
- Work closely with materials team to monitor, reduce and report out on obsolescence inventory
- Work in coordination with Supply Chain team for financial oversight of Vendor rebates, special pricing rebates to insure accuracy of rebate receivables
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis to senior management
- Partner with all departments to set standards and drive compliance across the organization. Look for ways to automate and reduce manual work.
- Serve as subject matter expert pertaining to Inventory Control, financial controls, GAAP and IFRS standards
- Establish accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, resolving problems and implementing change
- Work directly with internal and external auditors on all matters pertaining to area of responsibility
- Strong understanding of accounting principles in areas outside of inventory. Key responsibility under this job will be to review cross functional journal entries for accuracy, aid in the research of variance, root cause analysis of key accounts and implement measures to aid in accuracy of reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of relevant corporate accounting experience, distribution or transportation environment a plus
- 3+ years staff management experience required.
- BS - Accounting required
- CPA preferred
- Advanced level skills in Excel
- Experience working in BI/Power BI required, Tableau is preferred
- Strong problem solver with high attention to detail
- Strategic thinker with ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-pace environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills required.
