Are you looking to take your career to the next level? If so, Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, is currently seeking a qualified Construction Engineer for our Springfield, MO office. This person will be responsible for supervising contract administration and inspection personnel in the field to ensure surveying, inspection, documentation, and contract administration adhere to the specifications, special provisions, and project plans. Responsibilities are performed under minimal supervision.

Required Skills

• Administer construction contracts for assigned projects.

• Familiarity with the standard specifications for road and other transportation construction in Missouri and their applications.

• Interprets construction plans, specifications and special provisions and makes corrections as required.

• Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with clients, residents, government officials and contractors to meet the needs of projects.

• Ability to resolve construction problems and prepare responses to contractor claims.

• Supervise inspectors, make hiring and other employment-related decisions.

• Prepare or oversee preparation of project documentation, reports, payment estimates, change orders, and final plans.

• Willing to travel and stay out of town a week at a time if required for project needs.

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Ability to handle large projects and work independently on job sites.

• Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
• Successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training exam.
• Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.
• MoDOT Technician Certification is a plus or must be willing to obtain certification.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification required within 90 days.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri not required but encouraged.

Salary: $64,000.000 - $115,000.00
