  • Responsibilities

    Evaluate the patient/client’s condition and tolerance to treatment

    Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. Assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion

    Evaluate client to locate painful or tense areas of the body

    Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body

    Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture

    Develop treatment protocols and plans and communicate to treatment care team as required

    Provide massage therapy treatments as mandated by the state of Washington

    Document patient progress and billing in a timely manner

    Provide instructions for self-management and home exercise programs for clients at discharge

    Participate as a member of the care giving team, meaning the following:

    • Attend weekly meetings to report and discuss patient progress in the work conditioning, work hardening and PT programs with Occupational therapy, program coordinator and any other applicable parties – MD, DO, DC, PA-C, VRC, CM, etc

    Keep the treatment rooms clean, neat, and professional looking – clean up after yourself and the patient if applicable

    Conduct yourself professionally as the situation merits, do no harm to the patient

    Communicate with your team members, as everyone is here to assist

  • Qualifications

     

    • Sensitive to guest needs and wishes.
    • Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities or other special needs preferred.
    • Must have computer experience and be competent in internet use and a variety of computer software applications.
    • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, monetary, organizational and decision making skills.
    • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in order to communicate with staff and guests.
    • Applicant must pass background check.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
    • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.
    • Able to lift and carry 20-100 pounds with team lifting or mechanical assistance.
    • Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods
    • Able to stand and walk entire shift.
    • Tolerance of extreme changes in temperature and humidity.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends or longer shifts if needed.
    • MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK MORE THAN 40 HOURS PER WEEK
