  • Responsibilities

    The Sales and Catering Coordinator will assist the Director and sales in group selling, Delphi activities, and group contracts. Will provide office support to the Director of Sales and General Manager. This person will compile information to input into the sales data base and provide extensive communication support in person as well as via telephone and in writing.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Possess a strong sales focus with their main goal of soliciting new and existing business for the property consisting of telephone solicitation, outside cold calls, entertainment and site inspections.
    • Develop and negotiate proposals and contracts to achieve maximum revenue and profit potential while exceeding client needs.
    • Prepare for site inspections, correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and file maintenance.
    • Participate in daily revenue meeting, sales strategy meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings. (as required)
    • Manage and coordinate details in regard to meeting/event details (Banquet Event Orders), billing, pre- and/or post-con meetings, and internal group Resumes.
    • Work well with other departments within the property to provide quality service to our customers.
    • Attend trade shows and community events related to your market and/or accounts.
    • Assist the Director of Sales with other duties as requested/required.

                    Learn and assist with any additional department reporting

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    TRAVEL:

    Local and regional travel is required resulting in overnight trips. This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ohio Driver’s license. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver’s license upon being hired.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated
    • Time management and ability to prioritize projects
    • Ability to work with and win over multiple personalities when working toward a common goal for a successful overall outcome
    • Ability to work collectively and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure all details are communicated and flawlessly executed
    • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard
