    Job Description

    As part of Eataly’s Finance Department, the Accounting Analyst facilitates efficiency in Eataly’s financial operations by meticulously maintaining accurate accounts receivable balances for all Eataly entities. The Accounting Analyst communicates any delinquencies to the appropriate parties and ensures all files are appropriately maintained, accurate, and up to date. The Accounting Analyst also assists with special projects to implement, maintai,n and audit Eataly’s corporate accounting services, policies, and initiatives.

    Reports directly to the Controller.

    • Provides holistic and actionable analysis in support of Eataly’s financial and store operations, including digital and online sales
    • Prepares and reviews recurring and non-recurring journal entries as assigned
    • Updates and maintains backup schedules for various Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet line items, such as rent, utilities, contract revenue, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and accrued expenses
    • Reviews Eataly’s supplier contracts and management services agreements with Finance leadership to identify and manage the department’s contracted performance obligations
    • Analyzes and evaluates corporate cost allocations
    • Issues invoices and coordinates collection efforts
    • Works directly with stakeholders and team members to prepare accounting reports and analysis
    • Assists in internal and external financial and tax audits
    • Documents accounting processes and best practices
    • Handles other accounting tasks and projects at the request of the Accounting Director
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Finance, and/or Accounting
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; especially advanced Excel skills; e.g., pivot-tables, index-match
    • Familiarity with US GAAP
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains or other similar ERP
    • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand the workings of a complex business structure and its general ledger systems, as well as their interrelationships and dependencies
    • Ability to effectively communicate in order to ensure accurate cost and expense reporting
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills

    The base pay range for this role is between $60,000 - 85,000 per year.
