Job Description

Eataly’s cheese department is home to 500+ of the highest quality cheeses specially sourced from Italy, internationally and locally. Many of the cheeses are entirely exclusive to Eataly. An artisan in the salumi and cheese department prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A cheese and salumi artisan has passion for cheese and the ability to share that passion with Eataly’s guests. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager.

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards 
• Cleans work station thoroughly
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in food service prefereed
• Strong knowledge of steps of service
• Great communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Italian products

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register
