    ****About Ebb:

Ebb Carbon is a climate and ocean-health restoration company. Our mission is to remove gigatons of CO2 from the air, while reducing ocean acidification to restore a healthier planet for generations to come. We remove carbon dioxide from the air by accelerating the ocean's natural ability to capture and durably store carbon dioxide. Our electrochemical approach reduces ocean acidity and has the potential to be one of the largest scale and lowest cost approaches to removing excess CO2.

    About the role

As a skilled and driven Engineering Technician you will be responsible for the fabrication, building, testing and troubleshooting of different aspects of a novel electrochemical system that enhances the ocean's natural ability to safely store carbon dioxide from the air, while reducing ocean acidity. You will participate in all stages of the development process from research and development, design and manufacturing, through to installations and final commissioning. The ideal candidate will have superb hands on and technical skills, with a demonstrated ability of fabricating, building and testing systems in rapid succession.

    • Work as part of a team to design, develop, build, test and implement an electrochemical plant
    • Fabricate, build and operate equipment and processes that support the Ebb system
    • Support the set up of tests/experiments and collect data
    • Apply industry experience to ensure efficient and readily available component selection
    • Work with engineers and chemists to improve designs to meet requirements, improve assemblability and to eliminate malfunctions
    • Make observations during assembly and operation, and give feedback to designers
    • Help draft assembly instructions and operational procedures
    • Train and manage new technicians

    What You'll Need

    • 5+ years industry experience in fabricating, assembling, operating and testing prototypes
    • Hands on experience with fabricating and assembling complex mechanical, electrical and fluid systems
    • Experience wiring instrumentation, DAQ's, motors and controllers
    • Experience with various methods of fabrication (ie. 3D printing, laser cutting, machining, soldering, CNC routing, shop tools and basic woodworking tools)
    • Experience working with various materials (ie. steel, plastics, wood, soft goods)
    • Hands on experience working with fluid systems e.g. plumbing, pumps, filters and valves
    • Excellent problem solving abilities as well as creative approaches to tackling challenging problems
    • Experience managing a team
