    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY As a critical part of our finance team and integral to the successful operations to combat pandemics as well as predict and prevent infectious diseases globally, the Junior Finance Assistant will report to our Manager of Budget and Finance and work closely financial team in managing daily reporting tasks, maintain transparent and clear finance reports, assist with annual audits, and work with program and other teams to support budget and reporting. This entry-level position requires a strong eye for detail and the ability to multi-task and communicate well with both EcoHealth Alliance teams and external stakeholders.

    DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Enter incoming cash transaction and receipts into accounting system • Assist with reconciling accounts as well as revenue with records and approved budgets • Enter vendor invoices into finance system and manage accounts payable • Prepare weekly disbursement lists and perform reconciliations • Work with supervisor and team to update finance system to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed. • Process payroll and indirect costs allocations and enter revenue and receivables accounts. • Assist with payroll, timekeeping, and monthly credit card transactions. • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records, and other items as assigned • Help with entry and tracking of program and department budgets into finance system • Assist with preparation of financial reports, audits, and finance period closings • Work with supervisor and team to remain current on financial and reporting requirements from our funders. • Assist with other finance and other projects or assignments as needed MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or relevant field or equivalent work experience • Well organized and meticulous • Able to prioritize changing needs and communicate well with all stakeholders • A general understanding of financial reporting principles and practices • Excellent knowledge of MS Office • Some familiarity with accounting software is a plus
