    EcoRise is a nonprofit social enterprise whose mission is to mobilize a new generation of leaders to design healthy, just, and thriving communities for all. We offer a range of K-12 curricula and programs designed to advance environmental literacy, sustainable schools, and equitable access to green career pathways.

    In January 2019, EcoRise launched Gen:Thrive, an initiative that provides shared data and technology tools to accelerate sustainability education and advance health, equity and climate resilience in K-12 schools. Joining forces across all states and sectors, Gen:Thrive aims to provide our field with the tools, information and insights needed to explore local community needs, spark new partnerships and amplify our collective impact.     POSITION OVERVIEW

    As Gen:Thrive expands and deepens its reach across the United States, we are seeking an experienced, mission-driven professional to join our team as a Project Specialist. The Project Specialist will lead regional partner coordination, data collection and management, and community engagement. This individual will work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer of EcoRise, as well as our technology team, and many corporate, university, nonprofit and government collaborators.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Partner Coordination & Data Collection

    Support state and regional partners to prepare, launch and complete data collection campaigns.

    Collect and review necessary planning documents and creative assets from partners.

    Provide guidance and training for regional partners on navigating the Gen:Thrive platform.

    Lead communication and data efforts for service providers in Texas and national/multi-state service providers.

    Support data collection efforts with additional stakeholder groups, including school district leadership and green professionals/green workforce development organizations.

    Community Engagement

    Advance project awareness and public engagement by producing storytelling and social media content, presenting at conferences and expanding network alliances.

    Participate in regional convenings with community partners to foster engagement, solicit authentic feedback, and identify strategies to respond to community needs.

    Design and develop communication strategies and “how-to” guides for community engagement.

    Technology & Data Management

    Collaborate and coordinate among our technology partners and external stakeholders to ensure that our platforms and data visualization tools are well-designed and meet operational expectations.

    Provide administrative support on WordPress site, creating partner customizations and assisting data workflow.

    Create instructional resources for users to access and update records in the database.

    Research, adapt and integrate new and existing datasets.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    4+ years relevant experience in project management, communications, community engagement, and data management

    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills that help represent and reach racially, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse communities

    Strong technology and computer literacy skills, including working knowledge of data modeling and analytics.

    Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a high level of autonomy, excellent time management and ability to adhere to deadlines

    Experience developing customer-facing user interfaces with keen eye for usability and design

    Self-driven personality, disciplined, and comfortable with ambitious, adaptive work culture

    Ability to adapt and learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, collaborate and handle constructive feedback

    Enthusiastic and deeply dedicated to the vision and principles of EcoRise and the Gen:Thrive initiative

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Expertise in climate resilience, environmental justice, green workforce development and/or climate policy

    Proficiency in the following technology tools: ESRI, Tableau, Plotly, WordPress, Gravity Forms, Kumu and Heroku

    COMPENSATION & HIRING TIMELINE

    This is a full-time position in a remote work environment starting November 2022. EcoRise offers all employees an excellent benefits package including health insurance; parental leave; 401k; quality-of-life stipends; a flexible work schedule; unlimited personal time off; and the opportunity be part of a dynamic, purpose-driven, and joyful team.
