Our school-based program empowers more than 250,000 youth each year to tackle real-world challenges in their schools and communities by teaching eco-literacy, design, and social innovation. EcoRise seeks an individual based in Houston or San Antonio, Texas to join our dynamic, fast-paced team of change-makers.

    Position Overview

    EcoRise seeks a self-motivated, highly organized, adaptable, and innovative individual with experience as a formal educator and facilitator for the position of Texas Program Manager. The Program Manager will lead select Texas programs and provide support in multiple regions across Texas and the United States. The Program Manager will lead teacher outreach, support, and professional development in three or more high impact hubs in Texas, administer grant funds for student projects, support resource development and program evaluation, and work with community partners to organize regional events. The Program Manager will report to the Program Director and must be based in the San Antonio or Houston metro areas.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Conduct Outreach and Engagement: Recruit K-12 teachers and students to participate in one of the following: Sustainable Intelligence Program, PBL Academy, San Antonio Youth Climate Council, and/or Green Building Academy.

    Facilitate Professional Development and Support: Provide leading-edge professional development through virtual and in-person customized workshops. Connect with teachers and students via email, phone, video conferencing, and in-person visits to support the implementation of EcoRise lessons and resources.

    Redesign Instructional Resources: Work with program and curriculum teams to redesign instructional resources based on teacher feedback and needs, including student-facing resources to support remote learning and Environmental Justice resources for teachers and students.

    Award Student Innovation Funds: Support teachers and students in applying for Eco-Audit Grants, both virtually and in-person as applicable. Review applications, provide feedback, and fund student-designed sustainability projects.

    Host Student Innovation Showcases: Organize and host regional and/or virtual Student Innovation Showcases where student teams present their work to their peers, community partners, and green professionals.

    Engage Local Community Partners: Participate in and support community events relating to environmental education and sustainability to strengthen partnerships that increase the efficacy and impact of our collective mission.

    Evaluate Program Impact: Monitor, measure, and evaluate program impact using pre- and post- surveys, focus groups, classroom visits, and/or rubrics for student projects.

    Skills and Qualifications

    Required

    3+ years teaching experience in a core content area or CTE classroom, K-12.

    Experience designing and facilitating teacher professional development

    Fluency with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

    Must have a personal vehicle or alternative means of transportation for local travel (not covered by EcoRise).

    Must be willing to travel an estimated 5-10 days per month and work occasional nights and weekends.

    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills that help represent and reach racially, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse communities.

    Self-driven personality with effective project management skills; attentive to details with keen aptitude for organization.

    Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.

    Preferred

    Proficiency with Salesforce and Canvas Learning Management System.

    Experience implementing Problem-Based Learning and/or facilitating Problem-Based Learning professional development.

    Benefits

    Full time position with start date in October 2020. Salary range is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Includes excellent benefits such as health insurance, parental leave, 401k, quality of life stipends, and a flexible work schedule.
