POSITION OVERVIEW EcoRise seeks a self-motivated, highly organized Data Visualization Contractor for a focused, project-based engagement to advance specific Gen:Thrive deliverables on a compressed timeline. The contractor will build and maintain dashboards and interactive maps that help EcoRise and its partners advance environmental education. Work includes supporting Gen:Thrive with ArcGIS services, such as creating and maintaining maps, and refining Tableau dashboards, including updating connections to live databases, while making technology recommendations across the project to increase efficiency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Data Visualization with ArcGIS and Tableau
Create new maps and dashboards, and maintain and update existing ones, including dashboards responsive to unique data sets
Refine existing systems and implement automation processes to increase efficiency, and collaborate with teams for integration
Write and test database queries to ensure dashboard and map data accuracy, and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Technology & Data Management
Conduct training to support utilization of data visualizations
Assist with data management within the visualizations and across the organization
Develop recommendations for scaling deliverables and driving innovation
REQUIREMENTS
Extensive knowledge in Tableau and ArcGIS
Extensive experience developing, maintaining, and managing data-driven dashboards, maps, and analytics, and working knowledge of visualization administration/architecture
Proficiency in use of query and reporting analysis tools
Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.), Kinsta, and WordPress preferred.
Strong analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication
Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a remote work environment
TIMELINE AND COMPENSATION This is a fixed-term, 6-week contract beginning September 2026, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and mutual agreement. We expect the project to take approximately 80 hours at a rate of $60 to $85 per hour, commensurate with experience.
