    EAI is seeking resumes of qualified individuals to support private and public-sector projects. The individual selected will interact with a highly experienced team of professionals and will participate in a variety of challenging terrestrial and marine projects. Excellent field data collection and data entry skills (i.e., attention to detail) are essential. The candidate should be self-motivated and conscientious with a strong work ethic and the ability to meet deliverable deadlines within the expected timeframes. Must be able to follow complex instructions and communicate candidly and professionally with others, sometimes under adverse field conditions (e.g., inclement weather, biting insects, etc.). Must be able to work independently in remote settings. A clean driving record is required. Occasional overnight travel may also be required.

    Job Summary:

    Biologists provide direct support to Senior Scientists in the performance and oversight of field projects and operations.

    Job Requirements: The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

    FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent Certification.

    NPDES Stormwater Management Inspector Certification.

    Proficiency with plant identification.

    Strong familiarity with Florida’s ecosystems (upland, wetland, and scrub habitats).

    Experience performing water quality sampling.

    Experience conducting wildlife surveys, particularly for avian and listed species.

    Experience conducting wetland delineations.

    Broad practical experience using GPS instrumentation and GIS programs.

    Excellent technical writing skills.

    Boat and/or heavy equipment operation experience a plus.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Assists in the direction of field personnel to ensure compliance and achievement of overall objectives.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Performance of monitoring and field surveys.

    Data collection, entry, verification, and management.

    Responsible for the preparation, ordering, and maintenance of field equipment.

    Prepares reports and related project documents.

    Prepares, performs QA/QC reviews, and provides comment on project data, scientific reports, technical documents and statistical analyses.

    Tracks deadlines/deliverables and ensures consistency with scopes of work.

    Prepares and assists with invoicing and supporting documents/receipts.

    Provides support for agency/client meetings.

    Leads meetings and prepares agendas/minutes.

    Reviews scientific literature, participates in continuing education activities, and/or attends conferences and seminars.

    Other tasks are assigned as needed to support new projects and individual professional development.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Able to work independently and as part of a team.

    Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.

    Ability to meet deliverable deadlines within the expected timeframes.

    Excellent communication, data management, technical writing, and creative problem-solving skills.

    Microsoft Office and Smartsheet experience is preferred.

    Work remotely on occasion.

    Travel occasionally for short periods of time (i.e. 2 weeks).

    Must possess a clean driving record.

    Experience operating and driving an ATV and 4x4 off-road vehicles.

    Able to follow standard operating procedures for multiple pieces of equipment.

    Education and Experience:

    Experience supervising field staff.

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.

    Two years of related experience required.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Able to work outdoors in extreme conditions (long hours, inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, biting insects).

    Perform work on unpaved, uneven surfaces (tripping hazards).

    Perform work in, on, and around water (rivers, lakes, oceans, etc.).

    Must be able to stand, bend, sit, lift, and drive.

    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Pay Classification:

    Full-time, Salaried, Exempt, Benefit Eligible

    Project Manager/Senior Scientist II/Senior Scientist I/Biologist II
