Job Description
AECOM’s San Diego Natural Resources group is actively seeking an ecological restoration field crew member for full-time employment. The ecological restoration field crew member will play a vital role in supporting habitat restoration projects across Southern California. Key duties include:
* Perform nonnative species control using manual, mechanical, and chemical methods.
* Conduct native seed application and install container plants.
* Maintain and construct temporary irrigation systems.
* Implement erosion control measures.
* Work on complex ecological restoration projects under the guidance of the Field Director and Crew Leader.
* Provide field labor and support for all aspects of restoration efforts.
* Oversee the maintenance of the Annex (National City) and Clover Flat (Campo) facilities, including irrigation, climate control, and security systems.
* Ensure seed cleaning equipment and other tools are in proper working condition.
* Maintain a Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) to handle and apply pesticides safely and legally.
* Adhere to and enforce OSHA and AECOM-specific safety policies.
* Consult with supervisors regarding unusual challenges or developments encountered during fieldwork.
* Collaborate effectively with team members to address project needs.
* Actively participate in AECOM’s health and safety culture.
* Promote compliance with safety standards and foster a safe working environment.
