Our client is a large government contractor that is seeking a Technical Accountant. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the program finance and business operation teams to properly account for complex transactions
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements
• Assist in providing financial and control enhancements to existing accounting processes
• Complete revenue recognition checklist and ensure compliance with ASC 606
• Assist in analyzing financial statement accounts and identify potential accounting issues
• Be actively involved in the contract accounting life cycle, from initial contract structure through determining proper accounting in compliance with GAAP
• Develop a deep understanding of the Company’s transactions and contracts with cross-functional teams
• Help with audit request, including preparation of supporting documentation
• Stay current with changes in accounting standard and industry practices

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1-3 years work experience in Big 4 accounting firms or other large Gov Con companies
• Familiar with revenue recognition under ASC 606
• Detail oriented with exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivator and team player who takes initiative to research issues
• The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• US citizen

Desired Skills:

• CPA preferred
• Costpoint knowledge a plus
• Technical writing background
• Contract review experience
• FAR/CAS experience
