    The Director, Industry Specialty Services- Disputes and Investigations leads client projects to assist federal contractors and their counsel with claims, termination settlement proposals, bid protests, false claims act suits, investigations and other matters supporting potential litigation or the avoidance of litigation. This position is also responsible for acting as the client contact, training/supervising team members assisting on these engagements, and promoting thought leadership. Including providing innovative and effective solutions to complicated questions in order to inspire clients to meet their needs.

    - Supports various disputes and litigation matters for government contractors at the direction of in house and outside counsel, and under protective order
    - Guides strategy in the preparation of claims, terminations, REAs and other analyses
    - Utilizes a combination of regulatory knowledge, analytical skills, facts, and circumstances, to lead investigations or assist outside counsel in various forms of disputes
    - Provides expert testimony as needed, or supports the engagement partner in doing so, to include expert reports, exhibits, and related disclosures
    - Advises clients on compliance processes and procedures to avoid future disputes and/or exposure
    - Serves as a technical expert for client questions as they arise
    - Often operates as the primary point of contact
    - Assists partners in qualifying opportunities and scoping engagements
    - Aids in firm development activities and other marketing initiatives including but not limited to attending conferences, networking, developing internal and external practice development opportunities, and identifying cross servicing opportunities
    - Prepares innovative thought leadership such as authoring articles/white papers, or presentations for webinars and conferences, strategically developing a strong network to build a brand in the market as a subject matter expert.
    - Other duties as required

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    - Supervises, develops, and trains associates, senior associates, and managers
    - Reviews and evaluates work prepared by associates, senior associates and managers
    - Trains associates and senior associates on how to use current software tools and Industry Specialty Services methodology
    - Provides verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates
    - Acts as a Career Advisor to associates and senior associates

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education:
    - Bachelor’s degree, required with a focus in Accounting or Finance, preferred

    Experience:
    - Ten (10) or more years or relevant experience, required
    - Experience with FAR, FAR Supplements, REAs, Terminations, Claims, Bid Protests, Qui tam suits and investigations, required

    License/Certifications:
    - CPA or CFE, preferred

    Software:
    - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
    - SQL, Tableau and/or other dashboarding technology, preferred

    Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business / report writing
    - Strong analytical and basic research skills
    - Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
    - Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
    - Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
    - Demonstrated command of FAR, CAS, and GSA schedules
    - Ability to follow and apply specific rules and regulations
    - Ability to work with minimal supervision
    - US citizenship required
