We're currently looking for a motivated Junior Editor with 0-3 years of experience ****to join our dynamic team. Work location is in the DS2 office in Niceville, FL.

    Our team supports the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) in its mission to provide a mechanism for inter-service efforts to improve the databases and analytical methodologies the Joint force uses to determine non-nuclear weapons effectiveness. JWS is a key component of this mission, as it is designed to support U.S. and allied military planners in selecting the most effective munitions and delivery tactics to achieve specific target effects. Its primary purpose is to provide a standardized, scientifically-based tool for weaponeering — the process of matching weapons to targets to produce a desired level of damage or effect.

    The successful candidate is a consummate team player that is capable of working with team members to develop content, ensure accuracy, and has a meticulous approach to technical writing and review. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess effective communication skills, and have experience with editing, technical writing, quality control and accuracy. ********

    Qualified candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, possess an active DoD Secret clearance and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance in order to perform this work. Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful award of the associated contract, anticipated to begin in August, 2025. ** **

    Responsibilities — What you'll do:

    • Be a part of an agile team that works together to organize, manage, and complete their work on products
    • Develop documentation, including monthly reports, briefings, technical reports, and manuals
    • Examine technical documents for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and style
    • Ensure the document's information is easy to understand and technically correct
    • Be responsible for writing to a variety of audiences, from non-technical end users to programmers, system administrators, and engineers
    • Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and style throughout the documents
    • Capture user feedback and providing input to the development and sustainment of JWS

    Qualifications — We need someone who:

    • ****Has previous experience as a technical editor
    • Has expertise in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax
    • Has an understanding of technical writing principles and best practices
    • Has a meticulous approach to reviewing and correcting documents
    • Is familiar with document creation and management tools, as well as content management systems
    • Has sound oral communication and technical writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical approaches and findings to the team and the government customer
    • Is proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)
    • Has the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
    • ****Is a U.S. Citizen
    • **** Has an active DoD Secret clearance. A Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment

    Preferred — It's even better if you:

    • Have previous experience as a technical editor in the Department of Defense
    • Served in the applicable career field (Targeting, Weaponeering, Fire Support Coordination)
