Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced editor to lead MSNBC Digital’s breaking news efforts on nights and weekends, a key part of our breaking news and blogs initiative. This role focuses primarily on breaking political news, with additional coverage of select trending and other news topics. The ideal candidate will have excellent news judgment, a deep understanding of journalistic standards and the ability to consistently uphold MSNBC’s tone and editorial values in high-pressure situations.
You should have superb writing and editing skills, be willing to edit across media platforms, a keen understanding of the MSNBC voice and brand, and a proven track record of thriving in a fast-tempo newsroom.
Position is based in New York or Washington, D.C., 3 p.m. to 12 p.m. Mon. to Weds., and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sat and Sun. (with the ability to adjust working hours in the event of breaking news.)
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.

Salary Range: $93,000-$110,000
