The Education Operations Assistant is responsible for a variety of student facing, reporting and clerical activities that support the overall functioning and educational environment of Sylvan's tutoring center. Candidates should be available to work 2-3 days per week in the afternoons from 4-7pm and Saturdays 10:00am - 2:00pm. Work days can be flexible depending on availability and center needs. Ideal candidates will be available to work 10 -12 hours per week. Additional hours are available as you grow in position and experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare and administer student assessments according to Sylvan standards
Review student records and prepare conference materials according to Sylvan standards
Respond to customer inquiries around Sylvan's programming, pricing, and scheduling
Prepare student instructional materials, tutor work stations, and student prize center
Greet and assist students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards
Check students in and out of the Center with particular attention to student safety and well-being
Support a variety of other center operational and ad hoc activities, including some light cleaning activities
Depending on background and experience, may also act as substitute tutor
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
State or provincial teaching credentials (current, working toward or expired) - preferred not required.
2-3 years of experience working with children ideally in an educational setting.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT and other standard business applications.
Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones.
Authorized to work in the US and pass a criminal background check.
