    TX-STAR Speech Language Services works with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with specialized educational services and support. We are currently seeking Educational Diagnosticians for school-based opportunities across Texas.

    These positions are ideal for professionals who value comprehensive assessment, informed decision-making, and helping school teams identify the services students need to make meaningful academic progress.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As an Educational Diagnostician, you will evaluate student needs, interpret assessment information, and help guide eligibility and educational planning decisions for special education services.

    In this role, you will:

    • Complete comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations using appropriate assessment tools and procedures

    • Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, and other relevant assessments

    • Analyze evaluation data to assist teams in determining eligibility for special education services

    • Contribute assessment findings and recommendations to the development of Individualized Education Programs

    • Partner with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team members

    • Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and clearly present evaluation results and educational recommendations

    • Conduct reevaluations within required timelines and in accordance with state and federal guidelines

    • Prepare accurate evaluation reports, eligibility documentation, and other required records

    • Maintain current knowledge of Texas and federal special education regulations, assessment practices, and compliance standards

    • Coordinate evaluation responsibilities across assigned campuses when needed

    Qualifications for This Position

    • Current Texas certification as an Educational Diagnostician or valid Texas credential authorizing practice as a School Psychologist

    • Experience administering and interpreting cognitive, academic, behavioral, and related educational assessments

    • Strong understanding of IDEA, FERPA, evaluation procedures, and special education compliance requirements

    • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

    • Ability to explain assessment findings clearly to educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams

    • Strong organization, documentation, scheduling, and time-management abilities

    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school personnel and families

    • Flexibility to provide services at multiple campuses based on assignment needs
