    ABOUT CREATIVE STEAM ACADEMY

    Creative STEAM Academy is a progressive K–8 hybrid learning center in Laguna Hills, CA, built on the belief that education should be as unique as the students it serves. We blend hands-on academics, enrichment, and social-emotional learning in a community where creativity, critical thinking, and whole-child growth are not buzzwords they are the foundation. We serve a diverse student population and we take that responsibility seriously.

    THE ROLE

    The Educational Director is the academic and cultural heartbeat of our campus. You will lead our faculty, champion our students, and partner with families to build something truly exceptional. This is not a manage-from-a-distance leadership role. You will be present, visible, and deeply invested in the daily life of the school. You will set the tone for instruction, for culture, for accountability, and for joy.

    This is a full-time, on-site position for someone who is ready to lead with both head and heart.

    WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

    Academic and Program Leadership:

    Oversee daily educational operations and provide instructional leadership across all K–12 grade levels

    Lead curriculum development, instructional planning, and academic program implementation

    Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teaching staff, supporting their growth as much as their students'

    Develop and maintain student schedules, course offerings, and syllabi

    Lead school-wide assessments, progress monitoring, and intervention strategies

    Ensure compliance with California state educational standards and school policies

    Ensure effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies are in place throughout campus

    Collaborate with the administrative team on enrollment, scheduling, and student services

    School Culture and Student Success:

    Set and sustain a campus culture grounded in respect, accountability, empathy, and genuine engagement

    Implement restorative, fair, and consistent behavioral expectations and disciplinary procedures

    Promote student voice through surveys, student councils, and classroom forums

    Create an environment where every student feels safe, seen, and supported both academically and personally

    Champion social-emotional learning as a core part of the school experience, not an afterthought

    Family and Community Engagement:

    Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding academic, behavioral, and social concerns

    Communicate proactively and warmly with families through newsletters, meetings, and digital platforms

    Build strong home-school partnerships through events, workshops, and advisory committees

    Promote parent voice and ensure families feel like true partners in their child's education

    WHO YOU ARE

    You are an experienced educational leader who leads by example and earns respect through presence and integrity

    You hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

    You bring 3–5 or more years of leadership experience in a school or educational organization

    You have a strong working knowledge of California state standards, curriculum design, and student support services

    You have experience working across multiple grade levels K–12 experience is a strong plus

    You are a proven team builder, people want to follow you because you invest in them

    You have a background in restorative discipline, social-emotional learning, or alternative education models or a strong desire to learn

    You are an exceptional communicator in writing, in conversation, and in a room full of parents

    You are calm under pressure, decisive when it counts, and humble enough to keep learning

    First Aid / CPR certification is preferred
