Creative STEAM Academy is seeking a dedicated Educational Director / Principal to oversee and lead our innovative hybrid learning center serving students in grades K–12 in Laguna Hills, CA. This is a full-time on-site position with a collaborative team and a mission-driven culture.

    About Us Creative STEAM Academy is a progressive K–12 hybrid learning center that blends hands-on academics with enrichment and social-emotional learning. We serve a diverse student population with a focus on project-based learning, creativity, critical thinking, and community.

    Position Summary The Educational Director / Principal is a key leadership role responsible for the overall academic, cultural, and operational success of the center. This person will oversee all day-to- day educational operations, lead and support faculty and staff, build strong partnerships with families, and ensure compliance with all center policies and educational standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Academic & Program Leadership

    Oversee daily operations and instructional leadership across K–12 grade levels

    Support and supervise teaching staff, ensuring high-quality instruction and professional growth

    Partner with families and staff to support student achievement and wellbeing

    Ensure compliance with educational standards and school policies

    Foster a positive, inclusive school culture grounded in respect and accountability

    Develop and implement academic programs, enrichment opportunities, and intervention strategies

    Lead school-wide assessments and progress tracking

    Collaborate with administrative staff on scheduling, enrollment, and student services

    Lead curriculum development, instructional planning, and academic program implementation across all grade levels (K–12)

    Supervise, oversee, mentor, and evaluate teaching staff; support ongoing professional development and training

    Ensure effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies are in place

    Oversee academic compliance, progress monitoring, and school-wide assessments

    Develop and maintain student schedules, course offerings, and syllabi

    Collaborate with the admin team to enhance student services and streamline operations

    School Culture & Student Success

    Cultivate a safe and respectful environment that supports the social and academic growth of all students

    Implement restorative, fair, and consistent behavioral expectations and disciplinary procedures

    Promote student voice through opportunities like surveys, councils, and classroom forums

    Promote parent voice through opportunities like surveys, councils, and classroom forums

    Foster a positive school culture rooted in structure, accountability, empathy, and engagement

    Family & Community Engagement

    Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding academic, behavioral, and social concerns

    Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, meetings, and digital platforms

    Support family involvement through events, workshops, and advisory committees

    Collaborate with families and staff to build strong home and school partnerships

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required (Master’s preferred)

    3–5+ years of leadership experience in a school or educational organization

    Strong knowledge of California state standards, curriculum design, and student support services

    Experience working with multiple grade levels (K–12 preferred)

    Proven ability to manage staff, lead teams, and foster a collaborative work culture

    Background in restorative discipline, social-emotional learning, or alternative education models is a plus

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    First Aid/CPR certification preferred

    Monday–Friday schedule (on-site)

    Modified work hours (5-8 hours per day)
