  • Responsibilities

    The Marketing Specialist supports the Marketing team by assisting with a range of marketing and communications activities targeting current and prospective customers. This individual ensures plans are executed effectively and delivered on schedule. Assistance includes but is not limited to marketing materials development; internal and external information gathering; development and delivery of marketing collateral; support for the fulfillment team; and relationship management on behalf of marketing team with external partners and internal clients to manage expectations about project delivery.

     

    KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists with the development of member acquisition and retention materials across all lines of business, both online and print. This includes identifying current communications to this target audience and any gaps that should be filled
    • Develops project requests for the creation of new work; guides internal and external resources to develop these programs (e.g., creative designers, external agencies); posts relevant information using appropriate marketing channel; and analyzes campaign results
    • Monitor social media platforms by reactively and proactively engaging with members, prospects and the community
    • Manage vendor relationships to ensure effective creation, production and distribution of materials in a timely manner
    • Supports sales teams through efforts that may include updating materials and compiling materials needed for events
    • Assists with content creation, including making revisions to the websites, drafting member materials, and proofreading advertising copy
    • Conducts competitor and marketplace research to guide plans for marketing collateral and social media posts
    • Facilitates translation of marketing materials by working with creative agencies or other partners
    • Compiles monthly reports on marketing programs
    • Audits websites for broken links and inaccurate or outdated information
    • Performs other duties, as required.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     EDUCATION REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • A minimum of two years working in the field of marketing and communications.

    EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/DESIRABLE:

    • Experience in health insurance or other highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
    • Experience with a website content management system and familiarity with HTML a plus.

    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Good interpersonal skills required to effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships across the department
    • Capable of representing company and coordinating projects with external partners
    • Comfort with digital media; adept at using internet to gather information
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Powerpoint, Excel and Word

  • Qualifications
    • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.

    • Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong is a plus.
