    JOB SUMMARY

    Quality Inspectors are responsible for providing leadership and direction in support of the company’s Quality Management System.  This will require an individual who is a self-starter, motivated and multi-task oriented. Candidate should be experienced with inspections in a production/manufacturing environment.  CMM Inspectors utilize a CMM for dimensional inspections, (detail parts, components and assemblies) and provide reports to support inspections performed. Duties will include (but not limited to) receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, disposition and control of nonconforming product, first article inspection and record keeping.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Interpretation of aerospace blueprints / engineering drawings and CAD drawings.
    • Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems, and professional ethics.
    • Fundamental understanding of quality system (ISO-9001:2008, AS9100) and its development, documentation, and implementation.
    • Basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, corrective action, and follow up verification.
    • Able to develop and implement quality programs (Control of Non-conforming Material / MRB / Calibration) including tracking, analyzing, reporting, problem solving (Root Cause Analysis)
    • Able to control, and assure product and process quality acceptance sampling, and measurement analysis.
    • Thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques.  This includes knowledge of quality tools, preventative and corrective actions, continuous improvement, and to overcome barriers to quality improvement.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

     

    1. Experience performing inspections utilizing a CMM.
    2. Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and basic measuring equipment.
    3. Working knowledge of ISO and AS standard, procedures and audits preferred but not required
    4. Leadership and communication skills written and oral; able to organize and present reports clearly
    5. Able to make decisions based on data
    6. Able to manage several projects simultaneously; meet strict deadlines and handle adjustments to priorities

    EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

    • High School Diploma / G.E.D

    2.      Computer Literate

    3.      CMM operation and programming knowledge

    4.      Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T per ASME Y14.5

    5.      APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Training preferred but not required

    6.      Familiar with FARO Arm / Master 3D Gage Arm, Laser Tracker

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Climate Controlled Quality Lab/Climate Controlled Shop Environment
    • Work well with personnel in Quality and other departments, i.e. Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, etc.
    • Maintain a good positive attitude in representation of the Company and its products
    • Be accountable for successful completion of required assignments and time management
    • Ability to meet established Quality Assurance Standards and Procedures
    • Actively participate in continual improvement initiatives such as 5S and Kaizen events, Zero Defect Quality Initiatives
    • Obey Company Policy and Procedures
    • Additional duties as required
