Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who operates as a team member with a “working for the house attitude” and maintains a clean, safe and efficient work environment, work space, computers and equipment. This individual must also arrive on time, including but not limited to, arrival and lunch breaks. A digital press operator is responsible for daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. It is important for the candidate to maintain open communication with the Production Supervisor and necessary departments to ensure proper processing of Production Order.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reading complete instructions from Job Ticket and ensure accuracy (i.e quantity, frames, footage, etc
- Performing set up or directs set-up of press based on Job Ticket instruction and notifies production supervisor when instructions are unclear or components are missing.
- Obtains sign-offs from Production Supervisor prior to producing job.
- Verifies all components are allocated and appropriate for current job.
- Ensures Production Orders are run in an accurate and time efficient manner.
- Making job ready by running samples to make adjustments to print quality and color proof or PMS Color.
- Logs all press related times/footage into the productivity log.
- Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
- Completes all start-up checks, verifies scan ability of bar code, and obtains start approval.
- Recognizes when routine adjustments are necessary, catching errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize production reworks.
- Performs line clearance by following digital line clearance SOP.
- Loads the specified type of paper and feeds the paper through the press cylinders.
- Reviews all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment, ensuring satisfactory production and quality to meet or exceed customer expectations before releasing to internal or external customers.
- Maintain quality and color consistency.
