    We are seeking a Buyer to join our projects team in WESTMINSTER, CA.   Do you thrive in a schedule driven environment where timing is a critical function?  As a member of the procurement department you will work in a collaborative multi-discipline environment where timing is critical to manage budgets and avoid delays.  This is a full time position based onsite a refinery that reports into the Procurement Manager.

    Are you passionate about providing a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality?  We are seeking Buyer who thrives ensuring all procurement and/or purchasing procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner. Do you enjoy working in a field environment?  In this role you will be based onsite a refinery working closely with Eichleay program management staff, procurement staff, our Client and other vendors.

    Your primary duties will include responsibility for the performance and completion of assigned purchasing or other procurement activities for projects you are assigned to provide support.  You will be responsible for all procurement and purchasing activities for assigned projects.  This includes inquiry preparation, purchasing, expediting, commercial bid analysis, and invoice auditing for manufactured equipment and bulk materials.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

    • Prepares standard purchasing forms, including RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, reports, invoice coordination.
    • Meet with vendors to seek new sources of supply and will conduct such meetings is in professional and ethical manner.
    • Supports engineers and estimators in preparation of estimates by contacting vendors for “budgetary pricing” of equipment and materials.
    • Provide support and guidance to engineering personnel, Project Managers, and Construction Managers on formation, implementation, and administration of purchasing orders.
    • Ensures that all procurement procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner.
    • Responsible for assisting and advising Project Managers and Construction Managers on the status of orders for equipment and materials required to meet project deadlines.
    • Demonstrates awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues and addresses those issues as necessary to ensure zero harm to self all employees, clients, contractors with zero environmental incidents.

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, technical or legal curricula, or at least four years industrial experience procuring specialized capital process equipment and materials on multi-discipline projects; or equivalent.
    • Ability to read and understand technical documents (including, but not limited to, specifications and drawings) is required. 
    • Competent with Microsoft Suite as well as Project Management Systems, and in particular the Purchasing modules contained within those systems. 
    • Heavy industrial experience, including refinery, mining, food and beverage, biotech, or power industry.
    • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to be badged for a process safety management governed facility which requires in depth drug screening.

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Purchasing experience working on refinery projects.
    • Experience using Ariba is an asset.
